Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark: Parenthood Addition
The horror genre plays a huge part in my childhood memories. My father used to love to tease us with scary tales (mostly child appropriate). He was especially known for a thriller titled, “Now I’ve got you, and now I’m going to eat you.” I also had some adoring uncles who used to tell tales of Indian graveyards on every camping trip. In addition, there was an especially awesome book called Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark that was a staple in every 4th grader’s backpack, at least back in the 90s it was.
The fun of ghost stories was recently relived with my own daughter while we passed around the flashlight with the lights turned off, telling a story that was just scary enough, and just funny enough to be perfect for a 3 year old.

The Chickenless Chicken Lady
For those unaware, back in early 2014, Poppa Pigg took Princess Pigg to Rural King to pick up some dog food. A phone call was placed for me to come join them. Tightening the Purse Strings
It’s well known that I have a fairly type A personality. I love lists, and utilize Google Drive to organize basically every aspect of my life into a beautiful list or spreadsheet.
Since about 2010, we’ve had a written monthly budget based loosely on Dave Ramsey’s model. My grandpa taught me the Dave Ramsey method while I was still in college. At the time, I didn’t utilize it much as I had little debt, and even less income. To be honest, I would really love to take another one of his courses, or read some of his books. I think now as a mature 30+ adult (stop snickering), I’d be able to gleam more from it. But I did learn to keep track of expenses and to plan out where each of your paycheck will go. Read more
